History
With the Great Depression ravaging the entire United States, no one was able to afford the property and rebuild the stables, so there it sat for decades untouched.
In the late 90's, an older, wealthy gentlemen purchased the land, and re-built the stable from the ground-up, and as time passed and the stables passed through his grandchildren's hands, the stables have been fully modernized and gear toward more leisurely disciplines like trail riding and therapy. The trails around the stables provide a wonderful terrain for first-time trail riders and visitors. Their rescue programs are one of their most beloved, taking in neglected and abused horses whenever they can. |
Sonata Stables was founded in the early 1920's by a wealthy couple in the racing industry. Well known for their champion studs and well-bred racers, the stables flourished and gained a name for itself in professional racing.
Unfortunately, the façade of professionalism was unmasked after rumors of gambling tied to backyard racing were proven to be true in the early 1930's. Authorities forced the stable into a shutdown, the couples' prized horses rehomed and property seized. The property became neglected, the stables and its legacy erased from the history books. The barns became dilapidated, and the once neat and clean pastures overgrown with invasive weeds and other greenery. |
